Throwing out mementos
Of what life might have, been then

Away from the norm

But stolen umbrellas

Emptying your phonebook
Of friends you haven’t called in so long
Flowers left to whither
Whilst new roots grew tall and strong

Cos stolen umbrellas
Are not as safe as they seem

Watching old movies
Of how life used to be in the past
But black and white photos
Misremembered memories
Don’t last

An empty scrapbook page to fill
